Visiting St. James

St. James is located near the eastern edge of Phelps County at the terminus of U.S. Interstate 44 and Missouri Highways 68 and 8.

grapes vineyardfisherman A small vibrant community, St. James is just ten miles from the county seat of Rolla, home to the University of Missouri-Rolla, and conveniently located only an hour and half from the St. Louis Arch and two hours from Branson’s theatres. Within one hour drive is Mark Twain National Forest, Ozark National Scenic Riverways and the Lake of the Ozarks. St. James is home to trout fishing at Maramec Spring, hunting and fishing at Woodson K. Woods Memorial Conservation Area and canoeing on the upper Meramec River. Surrounding vineyards supply five local wineries, which offer award winning fine wines. The community has a quaint downtown that is home to several unique gift and antique stores.
