AREA WINERIES

The Ozark Highlands Viticultural Area covers hundreds of vineyards in the St. James area. Missouri's greatest number of vineyards and wineries are loacted in this unique viticultural area. In the mid-1800s, Italian immigrants planted the area's first vineyards. Today, the tradition is growing as we are producing more wines and becoming distinguished throughout the United States.
Two ‘Discover Tuscany’ tour presentations scheduled
ROLLA, MO Learn more about the 10-day “Discover Tuscany” tour of the Italian countryside this fall during two presentations, on Tuesday, June 28, and Monday, July 11. The November tour is hosted by public radio station KMST and St. James Winery, and arranged through Collette Vacations.
These live multi-media presentations will be held at 6 p.m. both evenings on the campus of Missouri University of Science and Technology. Wine and cheese will be served by St. James Winery. RSVP for either presentation by calling KMST at 573-341-4386.
The “Discover Tuscany” tour will depart on Nov. 10, and return on Nov. 19. The reservation deadline is July 15.
Collette Vacations has custom-built the trip with highlights that include Rome, Assisi, Basilica of St. Francis, Montecatini, Terme, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, the Pitti Palace, a winery tour and a traditional Tuscan feast.
St. James, Missouri is conveniently located at Exit 195 off I-44, just 90 miles west of St. Louis.
